Abstract

In case of accidental loading,progressive collapse causes serious casualties and property losses. In China,there is no detailed design method for anti-progressive collapse at present.In combining the GSA (General Services Administration ) criteria with DOD (Department of Defense ) criteria,the research of progressive collapse action of RC framework structure was carried out.The RC framework structures were 4 layers,6 layers and 8 layers at 7 degree earthquake intensity.The structural finite ele-ment software SAP2000 based on the alternate path method and linear static procedure was used to study internal force,displacement and collapse.According to the current design criteria,the RC frame structures of 4 layers,6 layers and 8 layers were prone to progressive collapse,when the bottom column failure.The failure of bottom corner column is the most prone to progressive collapse,and the failure of internal column coms second.After the failure of the column,the adj acent column splays a restraining effect on the vertical failure through the horizontal connection of the beam.The more the total number of floors in the RC frame structure,the more it is conducive to improve the progressive collapse resistance of the structure.The results can be used as a reference for the design of anti continuous collapse of RC frame structure.
