Optimal Control of Traffic Signal Coordination in Subarea Based on Phase Difference

Abstract
For the Webster delay model in the area traffic control,the phase difference coordination mechanism between the intersections in the subarea is not considered,which leads to the inaccurate calculation result of the delay model,and then brings the unreasonable allo-cation of the signal timing solution. For this,the intersection of road network is divided into boundary intersection and internal intersec-tion,and an improved Webster delay model based on phase difference coordination is proposed. By analyzing the mechanism of queuing delay in the entrance of the internal intersection,the delay model introduces phase difference coordination mechanism between the inner intersections of subarea to achieve the effect of overall coordination of the subarea road network. Based on the optimization of the average delay of vehicle in the subarea,the objective function is optimized by using the genetic particle swarm mixing algorithm,which realizes the coordinated optimization control of all intersections in the subarea according to the phase difference. The simulation shows that the im-proved delay optimization model and the coordinated control method can obviously reduce the average delay time of the vehicle through the regional road network.关键词
