摘要

Abstract

Before live pigs being slaughtered,stopping their feed supply would help to improve the pork quality. According to the current articles of related laws and regulations in China,the pigs usually are subject to feed withdrawal for 12 to 24 hours before being slaughtered. Here,the resource of the laws and regulations were sorted out. However, there is a heat debate on whether the existing feed withdrawal time should be shorten or maintained among the grass-roots official veterinarians,slaughtering companies,people engaging in animal welfare and relevant scholars. With reference to the related provisions from the relevant international organizations and countries in Europe and America, in combination with the actual situation of China,it was proposed to amend the provision of National StandardGB/T 17236"Before being slaughtered,pigs should be subject to feed withdrawal for 12 to 24 hours,and be subject to drinking unrestrarined water within 3 hours"into"Pigs should be withdrew feed for more than 6 hours after entering the waiting lairage of a slaughtering facility".
