摘要

Abstract

High temperature and humidity are the typical climate characteristics in southern areas of China and the high ambient temperature is recognized as one of the main restrictive factors affecting the productivity of buffaloes living in tropical and subtropical areas.The suitable growth environment conditions,influences of heat stress on production performance and health of water buffaloes as well as the mechanisms were reviewed in detail in this review which will be more beneficial in evaluating the effects of heat stress on buffalo's production performance and health,and further contribute to the sustainable development of buffalo industry.
