Abstract

The reasons for the deterioration of the frequency standard phase noise in series distribution method were studied. The principle of series distribution was described. The relationship between the noise factor, signal power and phase noise was de-duced. The noise factor and signal power of series distribution were simulated, and the deterioration of phase noise of the final stage was analyzed. Experiments and tests were carried out on an airborne project. After the frequency standard is distributed in series, the phase noise of the final stage is-139. 3 dBc/Hz@10 kHz, which is about 15 dB worse than the initial phase noise. After analysis and demonstration, a parallel distribution method was proposed. The phase noise of the final stage is -151. 5 dBc/Hz@10 kHz, which can basically meet the needs of the system. Finally, it is concluded that when the number of series is large, the phase noise of the fi-nal stage is greatly deteriorated, and the parallel distribution method is suggested.
