Abstract
Objective To analyze the causes of premature birth and the complications in very low birth weight infants (VLBWI) and to reduce the occurrence of VLBWI .Methods Altogether 482 cases of premature infants delivered in obstetrics department of Suzhou Municipal Hospital from January 2012 to December 2015 and admitted in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU ) within half an hour after birth were selected .They were divided into ≤ 32 weeks group and > 32 weeks group according to gestational age and≤ 1250g group and > 1250g group according to birth weight .Premature birth causes and complications of VLBWI were analyzed . Results Causes of premature birth in VLBWI were mainly premature rupture of membrane ,twin/multiple pregnancy and pregnancy complications except for unknown reasons .Incidences of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS ) , bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD ) , retinopathy of prematurity (ROP ) , intracranial hemorrhage , septicemia , hypoproteinemia , patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) ,apnea and neonatal asphyxia in VLBWI in ≤ 32 weeks group were significantly higher than those in > 32 weeks group ,and differences had statistical significance (χ2 value was 51 .16 ,15 .37 ,14 .97 ,6 .27 ,5 .34 ,25 .27 ,5 .67 ,18 .41 and 12 .27 , respectively ,all P < 0 .05) .Incidences of NRDS ,BPD ,ROP and neonatal asphyxia in VLBWI in ≤ 1250g group were significantly higher than those in > 1250g group ,and differences were statistically significant (χ2 value was 17 .80 ,22 .13 ,10 .32 and 8 .02 , respectively ,all P < 0 .05) .Conclusion Incidences of serious complications increase when gestational age of VLBWI is smaller and body weight is lower .Therefore ,it is necessary to strengthen perinatal health care .Prenatal and intrapartum complications should be detected and treated in time .Depressant of uterine contraction should be used rationally to prolong gestational age ,so as to reduce incidence of VLBWI ,especially VLBWI with small gestational age .关键词
