Abstract

Winged pile is a new structure form of pile foundation,for which theoretical systems of lateral load is immature and emergent to discuss.Experimentation of large diameter winged pile in lateral load is difficult and expensive,and the precision of soil resistance is not accurate.By taking the commonly adopted winged steel pipe pile with the diameter of 5 rn as the prototype,the influence from the direction of lateral load and the pile side wing-plate on the law of the stressed deformation of the pile body is studied herein through the relevant finite element numerical simulation,while the method for calculating the p-y curve of the large diameter winged pile in the foundation of marine softclay is discussed as well.The result shows that the displacement and the soil resistance distribution of the winged pile are similar to those of the mono-pile.Under the effect of the load on the same level,the lateral displacement of the body of the winged pile is far less than that of the mono-pile and increases along with the increase of included angle between the lateral load and the front wing-plate,while the pile side soil resistance is far larger than that of the mono-pile within the range of the wingplate and is similar to that of the mono-pile outside of the range of the wing-plate.The relationship between soil resistance and lateral displacement of the winged pile is the same with the law of the mono-pile,while the influence from the load direction is less.In the current relevant criteria,the mode of the p-y curve can be applied to the analysis made on the laterally loaded winged pile,but appropriate revises of the corresponding parameters are necessary.The study result can not only provide an idea for the deep study on the p-y curve of large diameter winged pile,but can also provide a reference for the engineering design concerned.
