Abstract
Thepresent study was conducted to investigate the effects of N-carbamoylglutamate (NCG) on amino acids levels in finishing pigs.420 crossbred (Duroc × Landrace × Yorkshire) barrows, weighing an average of (70±3) kg were allotted to four treatments (the control group and the experimental groups 1,2 and 3) in a randomized block design, with 3 replicates for each group (n =35).The pigs in the control group were fed with a basic diet, and those in the experimental groups were fed with basic diet supplemented with 0.05%,0.10% and 0.15% NCG,respectively. The preliminary feeding period was 3 days and the test period lasted for 44 days. The results were:Compared with the data in the control group, the treatments had increased serum serine, histidine and glutamine concentrations (P<0.05) in the finishing pigs and raised their serum arginine concentrations (P>0.05).In the group of 0.1% NCG diet, the concentration of serum cysteine was significantly higher (P<0.05) than that in the control group. The NCG addition improved the serum methionine concentration but not significantly. The NCG group showed no significant effect on the muscle amino acids concentration in the treated animals, meanwhile, the concentrations of glutamate, glycine, alanine, aspartic acid and total amino acids. To conclude, dietary NCG supplementation could raise the concentration of sulfur-containing amino acids in serum of cows, but had no significant effect on the amino acid concentration in muscle.关键词
