Formation mechanism, individual endowment and cultivation of family farmers

Abstract
As one of the new agricultural management subjects,family farm plays an important role in promoting the development of agricultural modernization.Family farmers are the core and soul of family farm development,and the research on its growth path and mechanism is the key to promote the development of modern agriculture.Based on the survey data of 384 households in nine regions of Anhui Province,this paper empirically studies the generation mechanism and cultivation process of Chinese family farmers by using dual-probit model.The results show that the family farmer is mainly composed of the village officials and the farmer entrepreneurs,and the cultivation mechanism is derived from their human capital,material capital and social capital.It has following characteristics:① Both village officials and farmer entrepreneurs have leadership ability,and this ability gives them ambition spirit and entrepreneurship.②Village officials and farmer entrepreneurs are well-connected,and such connections can help them reduce many troubles in the land transfer,signing the contract,financing and other aspects.③There are more information channels for village officials and farmer entrepreneurs,and they can obtain the relevant policies issued by the state in time,and make decisions and adjust accordingly.By introducing policy variables into the model,it is found that the current agricultural subsidies for land owners are universal,and agricultural policy does not have a significant impact on farmers to become family farmers.However,in the study of the interaction between village officials (or farmers' entrepreneurs) and agricultural subsidies,the result is significantly positive,because the current agricultural subsidies are aimed at the landowners,not the land operators.Large-scale land circulation can not get more agricultural subsidies,and village officials and farmer entrepreneurs can obtain timely subsidies with their information advantages.Accordingly,we believe that the cultivation of family farmers should focus on individual characteristics,and policy support should be taken as a supplementary means,so there will be more family farmers with entrepreneurial spirit.关键词
