Abstract

The influence of the content of Zr on the anisotropy of 7085 alloy was studied by room temperature tensile test, corrosion test and optical microscopy(OM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results show that the strength of the alloy with the increase of Zr mass fraction first increases and then decreases. When Zr content is 0.12% (mass fraction), the strength of the alloy in peak, The addition of Zr inhibits the recrystallization of the alloy and improves its strength and exfoliation corrosion resistance. The mechanics properties of the extruding direction(L-T) is better than that of transverse(T-L). When Zr mass fraction is 0.12%, the alloy has minimum anisotropy. The corrosion resistance of cross section is superior to the long section. When Zr mass fraction is 0.14%, the alloy has the best corrosion resistance and minimum anisotropy. The anisotropic properties of the alloy with the increase of Zr mass fraction first increases and then decreases. The optimal Zr content is in the range of 0.12%-0.14%, which can maintain high strength and corrosion resistance and has low anisotropy.
