Abstract
In order to control the vibration and noise radiation of railway wheels, the damping material is attached to the wheel web. The influence of the damping material on the wheel frequency response is analyzed by modal superposition method. Firstly, the finite element models of the ordinary wheel and the damping wheel are established respectively by means of the finite element software ANSYS. The natural frequencies and vibration modes of the two wheels in 0-10000 Hz frequency range are calculated by Block Lanzos method. Then, according to the modal calculation results, the modal superposition method is used to calculate the frequency responses of the two wheels within 0-5000 Hz frequency range and analyze the wheel's natural modals and admittance characteristics. The results show that using the damping material layer has a small influence on the vibration modes of the wheel and only slightly decreases the resonant frequency of each modal of the wheel. The main contribution modes of different positions of the wheels under different excitation are different. The use of damping materials has little effect on the vibration of the rim and the tread. However, in the case of radial excitation or axial excitation, the axial vibration of the web of the damped wheel is significantly lower than that of the ordinary wheel, especially in the main noise radiation band (above 1000 Hz). The vibrations at the modal frequencies (1-round and radial modal coupling modals), which have the maximum contribute to the wheel noise, can be reduced by more than 15 dB in average.关键词
