Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of root cause analysis (RCA) on fall management of psychiatric inpatients.Methods A total of 3 245 patients without RCA treated in our hospital from January 2014 to June 2015 were selected as control group,and 3 406 cases with RCA from July 2015 to December 2016 were selected as the observation group.Fall events in psychiatric ward were reported in nursing department by retrospective analysis,the main reasons were find out,and nursing measures were improved,and corresponding nursing measures were optimized.Results After intervention,the incidence rate of falls in observation group was lower than that in the control group(0.493％ vs.0.206％,P＜0.05).Conclusion RCA method can reduce the occurrence of fall events in psychiatry inpatients and ensure the safety of the patients.关键词
