Abstract

A railway simply-supported steel truss girder bridge was taken as the research object and the train loads were simplified as moving load series.The discrete wavelet transform was conducted for structural responses under moving loads and the wavelet energy for each layer was calculated.By using the sensitivity of wavelet energy entropy to signal mutation,a damage alarming method for bridges based on wavelet energy entropy was proposed.Various types of damage alarming conditions of a through steel truss girder bridge were analyzed by the proposed method to study the influence laws of damage degrees,damage locations and the arrangement locations of measurement points on damage alarming effects.Results show that the proposed method can accurately predict the damage occurrence time of steel truss girder bridge with different locations and degrees.It has strong robustness and can perfectly solve the boundary effect problem.A positive correlation is found between the damage alarming effect and damage degree.The damage alarming effect is more obvious when the distance between the measurement point and damage position is closer.
