Progress on Factors Influencing Fitness Cost Caused by Antibiotic Resistance in Bacteria
摘要
Abstract
Most antibiotic resistance can confer a fitness cost that is typically observed as a reduced bacterial growth rate.The fitness cost of resistance will allow susceptible bacteria to outcompete resistant bacteria if the selective pressure from antibiotics is reduced .The fitness cost is the main factor that influence the development of resistance , which means the resistance might decrease if antibiotic uses were reduced .Unfortunately ,the available data suggest that the resistance is still in developing ,and no sign indicates that reversibility is emerging because of measures which have been taken .In this review ,we reviewed the factors that influence the fitness cost of antibiotic resist-ance ,which will be beneficial in preventing the development of antibiotic resistance .关键词
