摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of ethanolic extract from Dendrobium chrysanthum Lindl.( D. chrysanthum) on the blood glucose and blood lipids in diabetic rats. Methods Type 2 diabetes mellitus rats were induced by intraperitoneal injection of 35 mg/kg streptozotocin ( STZ) and a high-carbohydrate/high-fat diet. Diabetic rats were randomly divided into four groups: the model group ( 5 mL/kg physiological saline) , the positive control ( 0.42 mg/kg rosiglitazone) , the low-dose group ( 1.08 g/kg D.chrysanthum) , and the high-dose group ( 2.16 g/kg D.chrysanthum) .The blood glucose and body weight were recorded. After treatment for 8 weeks, the serum TG, TC, HDL-C, LDL-C, GSP, insulin and OGTT were measured. The insulin resistance ( IR) index was calculated. Results Compared with the model group, the blood glucose in the high-dose group was decreased by 40.6% than before administration.The contents of TC, TG and LDL-C were significantly decreased ( P<0.05) , and HDL-C was increased in the high-dose group.The contents of TG and LDL-C were significantly lowered ( P<0.05) , and HDL-C were increased in the low-dose group. Compared with the model group, the blood glucose, GSP and insulin resistance index were significantly lowered in administration groups. Meantime, the insulin level was increased and OGTT was improved. Conclusion D.chrysanthum could significantly improve the glucose and lipid metabolic disorder in T2DM rats in a dose-dependent manner.
