Abstract

In order to reveal the adaptability of the seed germination of Keteleeria fortunei var. cyclolepis to the environment,the seed germination of K. fortunei var. cyclolepis was studied by setting illumination,mois-ture and substrate. Results showed that illumination had no significant effect on the germination of K. fortunei var. cyclolepis seeds,and the germination rate was 81.67%~83.33%,which had some influence on growth of seedlings. K. fortunei var. cyclolepis seedlings were etiolated in condition of continuous darkness. Intermittent il-lumination had no significant effect on seed germination and seedling growth. K. fortunei var. cyclolepis seeds could not germinate in 10%moisture condition. Under 25%to 30%moisture conditions,the germination rate was the best,and the seed germination rate was about 75.00%. When the moisture content in matrix was less than 25%,seeds could not germinate or had bad effect on germination and had poor seedling growth;when the mois-ture content in matrix was greater than 30%,the seed germination and seedling growth were inhibited. The germi-nation rate of K. fortunei var. cyclolepis seeds in the paper substrate was best,which was 83.33%;the seedling growth was fastest in the sand matrix,and its plumule length was 22.42 mm and radicle length was 53.08 mm.
