利用回波波形特征实现激光雷达的水陆分离
Water-land Classification for LiDAR Bathymetric Data Based on Echo Waveform Characteristics

Abstract
According to its echo waveform characteristics,this paper studies a method for water-land classification for LiDAR bathymetric data.Due to the interaction of laser and water,the received laser echo waveform usually becomes wider and demonstrates an apparent difference with the laser which only spreads in the air.In this paper,Gaussian function is firstly adopted to stimulate the echo waveform,and then we use the expectation-maximization(EM)algorithm for solving optimal parameters of Gaussian function.We select two characteristic parameters,the sum of bandwidth of blue band and the amplitude ratio of red and blue band,combined with the optimal-threshold segmentation algorithm to separate water and land cloud points.Finally,accurate water-land points are generated based on satellite imagery and those results are used for accuracy validation of the method in this paper.The experiments show that the method based on echo characteristic and optimal-threshold segmentation can produce comparatively accurate classification results,and the accuracy rate of the experimental data is more than 94%.关键词
