Relationship Between Premenstrual Syndrome and Personality Traits of Female Students in a Medical College
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To explore the relationship between premenstrual syndrome and personality traits and to explore the affecting factors of premenstrual syndrome. Methods: Random sampling was carried out in a field survey for289 female college students. The assessments included: the self-designed demographic scale, Eysenck Personality Questionnaire and Premenstrual Syndrome Scale. Results:①The incidence of PMS among college students was 49. 5％. ②Female with dysmenorrhea had a higher incidence than those with no dysmenorrhea among people who had premenstrual syndrome(X2 =10. 565, P＜0. 05). ③The scores of psychoticism scale of students with PMS was significantly higher than other students, and the scores of Neuroticism scale of students with PMS was significantly higher than other students(t =-2. 669, -7. 778, P＜0. 05). ④The total scores of the Premenstrual Syndrome Scale were significantly correlated with psychoticism and neuroticism(r =0. 189, 0. 474, P＜0. 01 ). ⑤In a regression analysis with three dimensions of personality trait as independent variable, and a regression analysis with dysmenorrhea as independent variable, the total score of the Premenstrual Syndrome Scale as dependent variable, neuroticism and dysmenorrhea were all in regression equation. Conclusion: There is a certain degree relationship between premenstrual syn-drome and personality traits. Neuroticism and dysmenorrhea are able to forecast premenstrual syndrome.关键词
