Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of perioperative management of femoral intertrochanteric fracture in the elderly patients treated with proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) fixation. Methods The 110 elderly pa-tients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture received PFNA fixation. Preoperative evaluation and correction of the pa-tient's blood sugar, blood pressure, anemia, cardio-cerebrovascular diseases were performed. The operative time, in-traoperative blood loss, postoperative blood transfusion, fracture healing time and final follow-up of hip joint function were observed. Results Operating time was 20~70 min. Intraoperative blood loss was 30~150 ml. The 89 cases patients in the postoperation were given packed red blood cells from 2 U to 4 U. The patients were followed up for 8~16 months. All fractures were healed from 2.5 months to 5.2 months. According to the Harris standard, the results were excellent in 75 cases, good in 20, and fair in 15. Two cases had coxa varus. One postoperative patient was re-vised, who was with a femur fracture at the distal intramedullary nail caused by falling down. Conclusions Surgical risk for femoral intertrochanteric fracture in the elderly patients is resulted because variety of medical conditions and the age of patients. For femoral intertrochanteric fracture in the elderly, the perioperative correct management and mastery of surgical technique can reduce the risk of surgery.关键词
