Abstract
The effect of mordant on knitted cotton fabrics with madder natural dye was studied by single factor experi-ment. The experiment was carried out with the mordant dosage, mordant method, mordant types (alum, zinc sulfate, ferrous sulfate, ferric sulfate) and different combinations of mordant as variable. The K/S value, L, a, b value and rubbing fastness of dyed fabric were tested. The result showed that the color depth of the fabric was increased with the increasing amount of mordant while an inhibitory effect took place when a certain critical value was reached. Changing the type of mordant and mordant method was able to obtain dark red, purple, brown and other colors. The mixing and adding sequence of different mordant could obtain different color light, which greatly enriched the color of dyed fabric with madder. The color fastness test showed that the dry rubbing fastness could reach 4~5 grades and the wet rubbing fastness could reach 3~4 levels.关键词
