摘要

Abstract

The study of the karst distribution,karst collapse formation conditions and formation mechanism of the Tailai Basin has reached the following conclusions: the basement of the basin is formed by the Archean metamorphic rocks,sedimentary Cambrian and Ordovician limestone,and developed latent karst.Groundwater level fluctuates around the bedrock surface.The groundwater mining and mine drainage tend to cause karst collapse and karst skylights in karst excretory areas of river intersection,which has typical characteristics of karst collapse in northern China.These factors indicate that the non-karst stratum is developing at the center of Tailai Basin and its surrounding areas.The south-central railway of Shanxi traverses from west to east along the gneiss strata on the south side of Culai Mountain and bypasses effectively the karst and collapse development areas to ensure the normal operation of the first heavy-haul railway of 30 ton axle load in China.
