Abstract
The researches on the metal catalysts and heteropolyacid catalysts applied in fixed bed process for one-step synthesis of dimethoxymethane (DMM) from methanol in recent 10 years are reviewed. Although Ru-based catalysts demonstrate low activation temperature, they are expensive and perform bad. Re-based catalysts not only exposed the problems of Ru-based catalysts, but also have high operating temperature, volatile loss and poor stability. Fe-Mo catalysts show good activity but poor selectivity, needing to match appropriate working conditions. Heteropoly acid catalysts show poor performance. They are unstable and easy to decompose, and require high reaction temperature. V-based catalysts are the most promising catalysts for industrialization due to their lower reaction temperature, better structural stability and excellent catalytic performance. It is believed that improving the activity and selectivity of V-based catalysts, studying their stability and developing appropriate reaction processes should be the key points for next stage research works. The constant breakthrough in catalyst performance and continuous improvement of technical economy will boost the industrialization of this technology.关键词
