Prediction of High Temperature Low Cycle Fatigue Life of Haynes 230 Nickel-Base Superalloy

Abstract
A series of low cycle fatigue tests at high temperature were carried out for Haynes 230 nickel-base superalloy under the total strain control.The results show that at 816℃and 927℃,the material ex-hibits cyclic hardening/softening behavior in the range of higher total strain and exhibits cyclic harden-ing/saturation behavior in the range of lower total strain.Generally,the fatigue life decreases with increas-ing temperature.However,when the total strain range is higher than 1.0%,the fatigue life at 927 ℃ is longer than that at 816℃due to the presence of smaller plastic strain amplitude at 927℃than 816℃at half life.The fatigue life prediction was performed using the Manson -Coffin equation and the energy method.The prediction capabilities of the two models were compared using the variance and dispersion band factor.The results show that the Manson-Coffin equation has better prediction effect.关键词
