Effect of 3D Printing Parameters on Interlayer Adhesive Properties of Printed Parts

Abstract
A series of standard tensile and impact test bars were prepared via fused deposition modeling on a desktop 3D printer,and the effects of the printing parameters (including nozzle temperature,print height,et al),annealing or not,and the type of printing materials on the interlayer adhesion of printed part were investigated.The ABS and PLA samples presented an enhancement in tensile strength and elongation with increasing nozzle temperature,and however they were reduced with increasing layer height.SEM observation demonstrated that,with an increase of print height,the interfacial porosity of ABS and PLA samples was improved but their bonding area in wire decreased.The residual stress of ABS sample was removed by annealing, leading to an improvement in tensile strength and toughness.The crimp-cracking phenomenon became serious for PLA sample,followed by a decrease in tensile strength and toughness.关键词
