Acceptance of disability and related factors in patients with ischemic stroke

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the acceptance of disability for ischemic stroke patients and its related factors, in order to provide a theoretical basis on rehabilitation intervention in ischemic stroke patients with mental disability. Methods: A total of 180 patients with ischemic stroke were recruited. The Adaptation of Disability Scale-Revised (ADS-R), Medical Outcomes Study Social Support Survey (MOS-SSS), Herth Hope Inder (HHI) and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) were used to evaluate the patients. Results: The mean score of acceptance of disability was (88.2 ± 14.3) in ischemic patients. Multiple stepwise regressions indicated that the religion, education, MOS-SSS scores and HHI scores were positively associated with ADS-R scores(b'=0.33, 0.21, 0.30, 0.15). The medical insurance, disability(MRS) and PHQ-9 scores were negatively associated with ADS-R scores(b'=-0.16, -1.53, -0.43). Conclusion: The acceptance of disability in patients with ischemic stroke may be at a low level. The religion, education, medical insurance, disability, social support, hope level and depression may be related to the adaptation of disability.关键词
