7种烟用添加剂对烟气气溶胶粒径分布的影响
Effects of seven tobacco additives on particle size distribution of cigarette smoke aerosol

Abstract
The aim of present research is to study the effect of 7 typical tobacco additives,i.e.propylene glycol,glycerin,furanone,vanillin,levulinic acid,linolenic acid and palmitic acid,on distribution of particle mass in cigarette smoke aerosol,and to investigate the distribution of these additives in cigarette smoke aerosol of different particle sizes.Particles of cigarette smoke aerosol were collected in 12 stages using single channel smoking machine coupled electrical low-pressure impactor(ELPI).The collected particles were weighted and analyzed by GC-MS or LC-MS/MS to determine the distribution of these 7 additives in cigarette smoke aerosol of different particle sizes.Results showed that the particle mass of cigarette smoke aerosol were mainly concentrated within medium size particles(0.14~1.17 μm),but the distribution characteristic varied with 7 additives added.Vanillin,levulinic acid,linolenic acid and furanone could increase mass of particles larger than 0.431 μm but reduce mass of particles smaller than 0.261 μm.Propylene glycol and glycerin could reduce mass of particles 0.261 μm.Palmitic acid had no signifi cant impact on particle mass distribution.The study also found that these 7 additives was mainly concentrated within medium size particles(0.261~0.722 μm),and displayed a tendency of increasing at first and then decreasing with increase of particle size.This result is consistent with the tendency of particle mass.However,the concentration distribution(ratio of release amount to particle mass)of 7 additives varied with particle size of smoke aerosol.With the increase of smoke aerosol particle size,the concentrations of propylene glycol,levulinic acid,linolenic acid and palmitic acid were first increased and then decreased.The concentrations of glycerin exhibited contrary distribution pattern,i.e.first increasing and then decreasing with increase of smoke aerosol particle size.The concentrations of furanone and vanillin were more uniformly distributed throughout the entire particle size range.Adding proper tobacco additives proved to be an eff ective approach to change particle size distribution of cigarette smoke,and the size distribution of additives in smoke aerosol of different particle sizes was different.This study provided some theoretical reference for cigarette design and tobacco safety study.关键词
