Effects of PG-VG ratio and working voltage on main components in e-cigarette aerosol

Abstract
[Objective]To study factors affecting main components in e-cigarette aerosol.[Method] Utilizing e-liquid of 7 different PG-VG ratios under 4 different working voltages,the yield of main components(nicotine,1,2-propylene glycol,glycerol)of e-cigarette aerosol was analyzed.[Results] 1)The yield of nicotine,propylene glycol and glycerol ranged from 7.87 to 51.77 μg/puff,169.52 to 3707.47 μg/puff,510.16 to 2582.54 μg/puff,respectively.2)The yield of nicotine was positively correlated with that of 1,2-propylene glycol,with Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.898.1,2 propylene glycol played a key role in the delivery of nicotine.3)Results of variance analysis showed that both working voltage and PG-VG ratio had significant effects on yield of main components of e-cigarette aerosol.The contribution rate of working voltage to the delivery of nicotine and glycerol was greater than PG-VG ratio,while its contribution rate to 1,2-propylene glycol was less than PG-VG ratio.[Conclusion] This study is of important significance to the development of electronic cigarette,e-liquid and product safety evaluation.关键词
