Free Vibration Analysis of Coupled Plates Based on Spectro-geometric Method

Abstract
The analysis model for coupled plate was constructed with the thin plate theory. Boundary conditions and coupling conditions were simulated via the artificial spring technique. The arbitrary boundary conditions and coupling conditions can be achieved by modifying the spring constants. With the consideration of bending, in-plane vibration, and coupling effect, the transverse vibration and in-plane vibration displacement functions were expressed using the Spectro-Geometric Method (SGM). The boundary discontinuity or jump phenomenon can be eliminated in the current method. Ultimately, the Hamilton’s principle is utilized to derive the characteristic equation for the structural system. Various numerical examples were presented and compared with the results from finite element method to demonstrate the effectiveness and reliability of the current method.关键词
