Abstract

Aerodynamic noise characteristics and regulations of resonance cavities were studied by test method and numerical simulation. Fluid mechanics analysis software and acoustic analysis software were used to solve the resonance cavity noise and the sound propagation characteristics of pipeline valves. By comparing simulation results with test results, the influences of the size and flow velocity in the pipeline and valves on sound frequency and sound pressure are discussed. The results show that the phenomenon of acoustic resonance occurs when Strouhal number is in the range of 0.3~0.6, acoustic resonance frequency shows a frequency-locked characteristic with the increase of the flow velocity, and the acoustic resonance frequency decreases with the increase of the side branch length.
