Study on the Spectrum Characteristics of DC Corona Noise from Multi-split Transmission Lines

Abstract
Audible noise generated by corona discharge from HVDC transmission lines may have adverse effects on the surrounding environment, so the characteristics of corona noise from conductors need to be studied. Based on the true split conductors erected in corona cage, the noise produced by DC corona is tested and studied in this paper. The spectrum characteristics of the corona noise from the multi split lines are obtained. Test results show that the corona noise of the conductors is a wide-band noise. It has a flat spectrum and is significantly different from various environmental noises in high-frequency band. According to the spectral trend characteristics of the corona noise and the frequency domain measurement data, a corona noise reduction method is proposed. In view of the same variation trend of the corona noise with sound level A and the 8kHz component produced by the true transmission lines, the quantitative relation between the sound level A and the 8kHz component is obtained. This research will provide a technical support for noise prediction of UHVDC transmission lines in our country.关键词
