Abstract

To establish a method for simultaneous analysis of 25 metal elements in Glycyrrhiza uralensis by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(ICP-MS) and to compare the inorganic elements in Glycyrrhiza uralensis between different origin,habitats and commercial herbs. Methods: The sample solutions were analyzed by ICP-MS after microwave digestion. The data of principal components and cluster were analyzed with the SPSS 17. 0 software. Results: 25 metal elements in Glycyrrhiza uralensis were determined. Hg,Al and Cr were abundant,which should be concerned. Six main factors were selected by principal component analysis (PCA). The PCA results showed that Ga,Al,Fe,Pb,Sr,Ca,Cd,As,Rb,K and Hg were the characteristic elements in Glycyrrhiza uralensis. Conclusion: This results provide the evidence for the quality control and safety evaluation of Glycyrrhiza uralensis.
