摘要

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of arterial infusion chemotherapy combined with iodine-125 (125 I) seed implantation in treating patients with pancreatic cancer. Methods Fifty patients with pancreatic cancer were divided into two groups by using random number method. Traditional venous chemotherapy was adopted in control group (n= 25), while arterial infusion chemotherapy combined with 125 I seed implantation was adopted in observation group (n = 25). After 2 courses of chemotherapy or 1 month after the seed implantation, the treatment efficacy, pain relief, quality of life and survival time were evaluated. Results After treatment, no significant difference was observed in the objective response rate (ORR) or the disease control rate (DCR) between the 2 groups (P > 0. 05). Pain relief, KPS score, clinical benefit response, and quality of life in observation group were significantly better than those in control group (P < 0. 05). No significant difference was observed in the median progression free survival (PFS) or the median overall survival (OS) between the 2 groups (P > 0. 05). Conclusion Arterial infusion chemotherapy combined with 125 I seed implantation in treating patients with pancreatic cancer has a better clinical effect than traditional venous chemotherapy. It can effectively alleviate pain, improve quality of life, and prolong survival.
