Abstract

Objective: To analyze the influnce of Maizhuni on subgingival microbes and periodontal index in the peri-implantitis, and to evaluate the effect of Maizhuni in peri-implantitis. Methods: An animal model of peri-implantitis in Beagle dogs was established successfully and were randomly divided into three groups: treatment group, control group and antibiotic group. The treatment group was treated with Maizhuni by gavage, based on the conversion of the animal's body weight to take the drug for 4 weeks. The control group was given same dose of saline by gavage. The antibiotic group was given antibiotics by gavage (amoxicillin capsules and metronidazole tablets). The Porphyromonas gingivalis, Bacterium forsythus, Treponemas denticola, Prevotella intermedia, Fusobacterium nucleatum, probing depth(PD), bleedingn on probing(BOP) and peri-implant sulcular fluid (PISF) index were obeserved in the three groups. Results: The PD, PISF, BOP index and the detection rate of the five sub-microorganisms in antibiotics group and treatment group after treatment were lower than those in inflammatory stage, but higher than those in normal level(P<0.01), and there were significant difference compared with control group(P<0.01). The detection rates of Pg, Bf and Pi in antibiotic group were lower than those in treatment group, there was no statistically difference in other index. Conclusion: Maizhuni is more effective in treating soft tissue inflammation, and it has antibacterial effect but relatively non-significant. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct antibacterial experiments.
