摘要

Abstract

The ampacity of buried cable cannot be calculated accurately because soil thermal parameters, such as the thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity, which are influenced by composition, particle size, compaction and moisture content of soil, are different with region and season. Consequently, we proposed an estimation method of thermal parameters of soil around the cable based on the finite element and particle swarm optimization, which minimize average error of cable skin temperature calculated and measured via using particle swarm optimization to optimize thermal parameters of soil. The method is proved to be viable for the average error between cable temperatures measured in experiments in which a step load and period load are applied, and the forecast soil thermal parameters estimated by the method is less than 2 degree centigrade. The method can be used to estimate soil thermal parameters and get more accurate ampacity, which is convenient for load dispatch.
