Abstract
Objective To study the expression of T cell immunoglobulin domain and mucin domain protein-3 (TIM-3) in serum and liver tissue of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its clinical significance.Methods The expression of TIM-3 in serum and liver tissue of patients with HCC were detect by enzyme-linked immunosorbent (ELISA) and immunohistochemical method;and the relationship between the expression of Tim-3 and the clinical pathological characteristics was analyzed.Results The serum expressions of TIM-3 in the study group were (47.36±8.14) pg/ml and (20.08±4.19) pg/ml on admission and after operation respectively,with a statistical difference (t=6.94,P ＜ 0.05),and (11.27±4.16) pg/ml in the control group;the serum expression of TIM-3 on admission of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group (t=8.29,P ＜ 0.05).The positive expression rate of TIM-3 in hepatocellular carcinoma tissue was significantly higher than that in the tissue adjacent to carcinoma (88.23％ vs.24.71％,x 2=69.78,P ＜ 0.05).The serum expression of TIM-3 significantly correlated with AFP,portal venous tumor emboli,TNM staging,and lymph node metastasis (P ＜ 0.05).AFP ＞ 400 μt g/L,the expression of TIM-3 protein in patients with TNM stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ and associated with lymph node metastasis,and portal venous tumor emboli were significantly higher than those of patients with TNM staging Ⅰ-Ⅱ and without lymph node metastasis and portal venous tumor emboli (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion The expression TIM-3 in the serum and liver tissue of patients with HCC is abnormal;and its expression closely correlates with malignant progression.关键词
