Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the influences of Deqi on brain function effects after acupuncture. Methods: A total of 10 medical literature databases from domestic and foreign, including China National Knowledge Infrastructure Engineering Database, VP database, Chinese biomedical literature database, Wanfang database, MEDLINE, CENTRAL, CINAHL PLUS, EMBASE, AMED, Psyc INFO, and a total of 5 clinical trial registration platforms were retrieved until May 2017. The system collected f MRI as the observation index, and compared the clinical trial literature on whether the Qi after acupuncture was effective or not on the brain function. The outcome index required MNI or Talairach spatial coordinates to activated the brain region, and SDM (Seed-based D Mapping) software was used for voxel Meta analysis. Results: A total of 4, 209 literatures were retrieved, and4 papers (79 subjects) met the inclusion criteria, and the quality of documentation was low. After voxel Meta analysis for the 4 cases, the results showed that the activation of acupuncture was more significant than that in the upper right margin, the left value network and the left central posterior gyrus. However, due to the heterogeneity between the studies, the activated brain regions shown in the results were not representative. Conclusion:The initial point of view is that brain function effects is different between Deqi and non-Deqi state. The activation of brain areas are more and the activation degree is stronger in the Deqi condition compare to non-Deqi condition. The specific activation of brain regions after acupuncture needs further confirmed by more high quality studies.
