Development of Policemen Professional Identity Scale

Abstract
Objective:To develop the measurement of policemen professional identity scale. Methods:Firstly, determining the initial title of the scale on the basis of the literature research, interviews and open-ended investigation; Then, determining the formal title of the scale by project analysis and exploratory factor analysis and determinacy factor analysis. Results:The policemen professional identity scale consisted of role concept, professional self-esteem, professional value, professional pride, and the four subscales constituted cumulative variance contribution rate of62. 407%. The scale had good reliability and validity, and confirmatory factor analysis showed that model fitting was good. Coefficient a coefficients in the total scale and subscale were 0. 897, 0. 707, 0. 774, 0. 751 and 0. 906. The confirmatory factor analysis showed that four factors fitted better(X2/df=2. 432, TLI = 0. 91, CFI = 0. 924, GFI =0. 893, IFI =0. 925, RMSEA= 0. 068). Conclusion:The proposed scale of policemen professional identity has good reliability and validity and is suit to assess the professional identity of policemen.关键词
