Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the Xiaotong plaster on treating gouty arthritis with damp-heat obstruction. Methods:Sixty patients with gouty arthritis were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group. In the treatment group patients were treated with external application of Xiaotong plaster, while in the control group patients were treated with the external application of voltaren cream. Two groups were compared on the clinical effect, symptom score and laboratory examination to evaluate the safety and effects of Xiaotong plaster. Results:Compared with before treatment, both groups showed improvement on the clinical symptom scores, serum uric acid, leukocyte count, hypersensitive C-reactive protein (CRP), with statistical difference(P＜0.05). Both group could reduce serum uric acid without significant difference(P＞0.05). The treatment group showed better effect on reducing leukocyte count and CRP, with statistical difference (P＜0.05). The total clinical efficacy effective rate was 87.7％ in the treatment group and 73.3％ in the control group, with statistically difference(P＜0.05). There was two cases with adverse reactions in the control group while no case with adverse reactions in the treatment group. Conclusion:External application of Xiaotong plaster could relieve the clinical symptoms and inflammatory indexes rapidly and decrease serum uric acid, without side-effect. It is a safe and efficient method to treat acute gouty arthritis.关键词
