Abstract
Based on ying-wei theory, the disease mechanism of insomnia is that evil qi invades and locates in the five zang organs and six fu-organs, leading to wei qi failing to enter yin, or that deficiency of ying qi leads to unsmooth qi passage and internal invasion by wei qi. For acupuncture and moxibustion, syndrome differentiation is of the highest importance. Through excavation of the ying-wei theory from The Spiritual Pivot, the selection of major points for insomnia based on circulation and intersection of ying qi and wei qi was explored, and the systemic syndrome differentiation of channels and collaterals based on ying-wei theory by combining the general and the local was performed, and acupuncture was combined with other traditional Chinese medicine treatment to treat insomnia. Based on circulation and intersection of ying qi and wei qi the selection of major points for insomnia was explored, which involves the circulation law of ying qi and wei qi and points selection based on channel differentiation. The key point for syndrome differentiation is how to determine the condition of ying qi and wei qi, involving the differentiation of ying-wei deficiency or excess, and syndrome differentiation of wei qi disorder. Besides, the local diagnosis is applied to help diagnosis, especially the abdominal diagnosis and ocular diagnosis. The treatment should be based on the syndromes by using various therapies like acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, blood letting and Chinese medicinals.关键词
