Partial Surrogate Cuts Approach for Alternating Current Power Flow Constrained Unit Commitment

Abstract
Unit commitment (UC) including alternating current power flow constraints is a non-convex and mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem with large-scale discrete variables, which is extremely difficult to solve. This paper introduced a partial surrogate cuts (PSC) method into UC, and thus proposed a new decomposition algorithm for solving it based on a separable formulation. Furthermore, in order to avoid prematurely falling into the local optimum when the scale of the UC problem grows, this paper also presented an improved PSC approach considering direct current power flow constraints, based on the feature of power system, resulting a better solution. The numerical simulations on three test systems such as six-bus, IEEE 39-bus and IEEE 118-bus power systems demonstrate the effectiveness and excellent computational performance of the PSC approach.关键词
