Abstract
Colon capsule endoscopy(CCE) is a promising novel modality to observe the whole colon.Many studies confirmed that it is a safe and effective procedure for colon diseases screening. Based on the techniques of the first-generation colon capsule, the second-generation colon capsule (CCE-2) was recentlydeveloped that has an wider angle of view and an adjustable frame mode. Colon capsule endoscopy is an important supplement to conventional colonoscopy with high sensitivity and specificity in exploring colonic polyps, colon cancer andmonitoring inflammatory bowel disease. Subjects withincomplete examination or high risks for conventional colonoscopy, colon capsule endoscopy is a good alternative.Adequate bowel preparation is crucial to achieve successful CCE with accurate diagnosis.Several clinical centers have done a lot of studies to optimize the preparation of the gastrointestinal tract. However, the application of CCE in China is still in its infancy, and more clinical studies are needed to confirm the effectiveness and safety of its application.关键词
