Correlation between volume-based 18F-FDG PET-CT metabolic parameters and staging in patients with non-small cell lung cancer
摘要
Abstract
Objective To evaluate the correlation between metabolic tumor burden and initial staging in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods Clinical data of 86 NSCLC patients with TNM stage IA-IV who underwent 18F-FDG PET-CT from December 2012 to December 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. SUVpeak, MTV and TLG of primary cancer on PET-CT images were measured and their association with TNM stage was analyzed by One-way ANOVA and Spearman correlation. Results The MTV, TLG and SUVpeakof primary cancer were significantly different among clinical TNM stage groups (all P<0.05). Both MTV and TLG were significantly positively correlated with tumor stage, and correlation coefficients were 0.72 and 0.69, respectively (all P<0.05). Also positively correlated with metastatic stage on a certain degree, and correlation coefficients were 0.26 and 0.29 (all P<0.05), respectively. While SUVpeak was positive correlated with tumor, node and metastatic stages, and correlation coefficients were 0.38, 0.24, 0.26 (all P<0.05), respectively. Conclusion Volume-based 18F-FDG PET-CT parameters of primary NSCLC lesions on PET-CT are closely related to clinical TNM stage. The higher the value of MTV and TLG, the higher the T staging of NSCLC patients. In addition, SUVpeak is positively correlated to T, N and M stages on a certain extent.关键词
