Effects of Ce on Corrosion Behavior of As-cast Mg-Li-Al-Ca Alloy in NaCl Solution

Abstract
Corrosion behavior of as-cast Mg-11Li-3Al-1Ca magnesium alloy in 3.5% NaCl solution was studied by electrochemical workstation. Surface morphologies of the alloys after corrosion were observed by SEM, and the corrosion products were analyzed by XRD. Corrosion rate was determined by weight loss method. The results show that complex corrosion products of [Mg (OH)2, Ca (OH)2, Al (OH)3] form on the surface of Mg-11Li-3Al-1Ca alloy after adding the element Ce. As a result, the corrosion resistance of Mg-11Li-3Al-1Ca-1Ce alloy is better than that of Mg-11Li-3Al-1Ca alloy.关键词
