摘要

Abstract

Flow pattern in tundish with square shape swirl type turbulence inhibitor (SSST TI) was simulated based on mathematical model for improving the flow field in tundish, and the characteristics was researched. The results show that compared with traditional inhibitor, SSST TI could effectively decrease the turbulence energy in tundish, and the surface flow velocity of liquid is low. In addition, the liquid flow sourced from SSST TI has the stream direction of upward, so the shortcoming flow in tundish is reduced obviously and it could enhance the opportunity of inclusion remove.
