Abstract
Objective: To observe the efficacy of salmon calcitonin combined with alendronate in the treatment of elderly osteoporosis and its effects on bone metabolism, blood parathyroid hormone (PTH) and 1, 25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 (1, 25-(OH)2D3) levels. Methods: One hundred and forty-four elderly patients with osteoporosis were divided into two groups: group A (salmon calcitonin combined with alendronate, n =48), group B (alendronate, n =48) and group C(salmon calcitonin, n =48) according to the random number table method. The bone mineral density (BMD) of femoral neck, total hip bone and lumbar vertebrae (L1 ~ L4) of the three groups were measured before treatment (T1) and 6 months after treatment (T2), and the levels of serum bone metabolism indexes including bone gla protein (BGP), type I procollagen N-terminal peptide (TPINP), tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRACP), and type I collagen carboxyterminal peptide (β-CTX), serum PTH and 1, 25-(OH) 2D3 were compared among the three groups at T1 and T2, and the efficacy was assessed at T2. Results: At T1, there was no significant difference in the levels of serum bone metabolism indexes, PTH and 1, 25-(OH) 2D3 between the three groups (all P> 0. 05). At T2, the levels of BGP, TPINP and1, 25-(OH) 2D3 of the three groups were increased compared with those at T1, and the increased in group A was greater than that in groups B and C (all P< 0. 05); the levels of TRACP, β-CTX and PTH of the three groups were decreased compared with those at T1, and the decrease in group A was greater than that in group B and C (all P< 0. 05); the1, 25-(OH) 2D3 level of the three groups were lower than those at T1, and the decrease in group A was greater than that in group B and C (all P< 0. 05); there was no significant difference in the above indexes between group B and group C(all P> 0. 05). The total effective rate of group A was significantly higher than that in group B and C (P< 0. 05), and there was no significant difference in the total effective rate between group B and group C (P> 0. 05). Conclusion: Salmon calcitonin combined with alendronate in the treatment of senile osteoporosis can significantly improve the efficacy, enhance the levels of bone metabolism indexes, PTH and 1, 25-(OH)2D3, which is beneficial to the outcome of the disease.关键词
