Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of Xipayi Guyin Liquid as a simultaneous irrigation to ultrasonic subgingival debridement for periodontal treatment.Methods Thirty patients with moderate to severe chronic periodontitis were randomly assigned to the following three groups:undiluted liquid group (ULG, ultrasonic debridement with subgingival delivery of Xipayi Guyin Liquid) , diluted liquid group (DLG, ultrasonic debridement with50％ Xipayi Guyin Liquid) , and control group (CG, ultrasonic debridement with distilled water) , 10 cases in each group.Periodontal parameters such as probing depth (PD) , attachment loss (AL) , plaque index (PLI) and bleeding index (BI) were collected and analyzed before treatment and1 and6 weeks after treatment.Results Compared with before treatment, PD, AL, PLI, and BI decreased in the three groups at 1 and 6 weeks after treatment (P＜0.01) .PD, AL and BI in the three groups decreased at 6 weeks when compared with1 week after treatment (P＜0.01, P＜0.05) .The improvement of PD and BI was more obvious in ULG and DLG at 1 week and6 weeks after treatment compared with CG regarding the anterior or posterior teeth region (P＜0.01, P＜0.05) .Compared with DLG, the reduction of PD and BI in ULG was more significant in the anterior teeth area at 1 week and6 weeks after treatment (P＜0.01, P＜0.05) .The decline of PLI was more obvious in ULG and DLG than that in CG at 1 week after treatment in both anterior and posterior teeth regions (P＜0.01, P＜0.05) .Conclusion The adoption of Xipayi Guyin Liquid during ultrasonic scaling could be a valuable adjunct to periodontal treatment, and the therapeutic effect of undiluted Xipayi Guyin Liquid is superior to the 50％ diluted one.关键词
