Abstract
Objective To explore the role of miR-618 in the development of esophageal cancer by investigating its expression in the tissue samples of esophageal cancer and its effect on biological function in the cell line.Methods The expression of miR-618 in the esophageal cancer tissue and its paracancerous tissue were determined by fluorescent real-time quantitative PCR.The proliferation and cell cycle of the esophageal cancer cells-EC 109 were detected by MTT and flow cytometry,respectively.Results The expression of miR-618 in esophageal cancer tissue was significantly higher than that in its paracancerous tissue.After treated with miR-618 mimics for 48 hour,the percentage of EC 109 cells in G0/G 1 stage significantly decreased and the percentage of EC109 cells in S stage significantly increased (P<0.05).After treated with miR-618 mimics for 72 hours,the number of EC 109 cell increased.Conclusions The expression of miR-618 is up-regulated in esophageal cancer patients.MiR-618 can stimulate the proliferation of the esophageal cancer cells and promotes the cells into S stage.Therefore,miR-618 may be closely related to the development of esophageal cancer and might act as an oncogene in esophageal cancer.关键词
