摘要
Abstract
In China, the incidence of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and prostate cancer (PCa) has been greatly increasing in recent years.Lycopene, as a family member of carotenoids , can exhibit a strong antioxidant activity.Studies have shown that lycopene exerts anti -pros-tatic hyperplasia or anti -prostate cancer activity through anti -oxida-tion, inhibition of cell proliferation , and affecting the expression of rela-ted genes and proteins.This article aimed to objectively review the basic and applied research advances of lycopene in the prevention and treat-ment of BPH and PCa, thus, to provide a theoretical reference for the complementary or alternative therapy of prostate disease and facilitating further research on this topic.关键词
