Influence study of regular voluntary blood donation on the serum iron and ferritin of blood donors

Abstract
Objective To discuss the influence of regular voluntary blood donation on the serum iron and ferritin of blood donors.Methods From January 2018 to March 2018,92 voluntary blood donors and 92 healthy check-ups (control group) in our center were selected.The blood routine examination,serum iron,ferritin were examined and analyzed.Results The male and female blood donors had the normal levels of RBC (red blood cell),HB (hemoglobin B),and HCT (hematocrit);the levels of RBC,HB,and HCT in the male blood donors were significantly higher than those in the female blood donors (P＜0.05).The level of serum iron in the male and female blood donors were slightly lower than those in the male and female healthy check-ups,but without statistically significant differences (P＞0.05);the level of serum ferritin in the male and female blood donors were significantly lower than those in the male and female healthy check-ups (P＜0.05).Conclusion The regular voluntary blood donation won't cause the anemia,but bring down the serum ferritin level.The specific nutritional and dieting supplements should be performed.关键词
