摘要
Abstract
Currently,metformin is the most-widely clinicall used drug for type 2 diabetes;it improves hyperglycemia primarily by suppressing hepatic glucose production and increasing insulin sensitivity.In addition,accumulating evidences suggest that,beside glucose-lowering effect,metformin also possesses the properties of anti-inflammatory,anti-cancer,and anti-aging effects.Although the underlying mechanisms of anti-inflammation,anti-cancer,and anti-aging currently remain to be elucidated,studies indicate that it primarily involves the activation of AMPK pathway.Further study on the effects and mechanisms will be beneficial to exploiting the new field of the clinical use of metformin.关键词
